Record of Success

When I was first elected to the Arizona House of Representatives in 2010, I was immediately entrusted with leadership, serving as Chairman of the Government Committee during my first term. I later chaired the Elections Committee and the Ways and Means Committee, and spent 11 years shaping Arizona’s budget on the Appropriations Committee. Following my election to the Arizona Senate in 2018, I continued that work as Chairman of the Commerce Committee and later as Chairman of the Government Committee, while also serving on the Finance and Appropriations Committees.

At every step, I fought to make government work for the people—not the other way around. On behalf of Scottsdale residents, I led efforts to balance the State budget, protect the integrity of our elections by strengthening voter ID requirements and banning ballot harvesting, simplify the tax code, cut red tape for businesses, reform healthcare, ban child marriage, remove barriers to workforce entry, expand citizen representation on licensing boards, and repeal the unpopular $32 vehicle license tax.

Beyond legislation, I fought to keep our economy and schools open during the pandemic, worked to keep our communities safe by opposing illegal immigration, and led the effort against a ballot referral granting in-state tuition to illegal immigrants. I consistently supported Scottsdale’s art community and tourism industry, vigorously opposed the expansion of light rail into Scottsdale, and was a strong advocate for protecting animal welfare.

After six consecutive elections, my record speaks for itself. I do not back down from tough fights, I do not accept business as usual, and I never forget who I represent. I have earned a reputation as a leader who challenges the status quo and delivers results.

Now more than ever, Scottsdale needs a decisive, proven leader who will stand up for conservative principles and the voices of its residents. I have done it before—and I am ready to do it again.
